The HP Omen 17, with its powerful graphics and processor, is designed for intensive gaming and engineering tasks; however, it is heavier and might be less portable compared to the HP Spectre x360. On the other hand, the Spectre x360 is often less expensive with a lower midrange price point, is more lightweight, and offers a 2-in-1 design with a touchscreen that supports a pen, making it suitable for general use and portability. The Omen 17 also has a higher refresh rate suitable for fast-paced gaming. Consider the Spectre for everyday tasks and mobility, or the Omen for gaming and high-performance needs. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 17 has a better screen than the HP Spectre x360 for gaming and AI, while the HP Spectre x360 has a better screen for engineering and design, and content creation.
The HP Omen 17 may have a high-resolution display with great brightness and color representation, which is why it excels for general use and is suitable for engineering and design tasks that require precise color accuracy. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-paced visuals are crucial, its lower refresh rate can result in less fluid motion, making the screen seem poor compared to models designed for gaming. In contrast, the HP Spectre x360 offers a similar high-quality, sharp, and bright display that's great for both general use and color-critical work in engineering and design due to its broad color gamut, but like the HP Omen 17, it lacks the high refresh rate that would make it ideal for gaming and 3D activities.

How the HP Omen 17 and the HP Spectre x360 compare to other laptops
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
