The HP EliteBook 845 G9 is often slightly less expensive and is a premium business laptop with very good battery life and high portability; it's excellent for general use, but its performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks is good but not the highest. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is a bit more expensive and serves as a more powerful gaming-focused laptop, offering better performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering applications; however, it's heavier, which may impact portability, and has a lesser battery life. The HP has a slightly smaller, higher-resolution display which provides more workspace and sharpness, better suited for business and productivity tasks, while the Lenovo, with its larger screen and higher refresh rate, provides a smoother visual experience, making it better for gaming and multimedia consumption. NotebookCheck

Sebastian Jentsch | July 2022
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."

NotebookCheck

Benjamin Herzig | November 2022
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
