The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i has a better screen than the HP EliteBook 845 G9 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and Lenovo Legion Pro 5i offer screens with sufficient resolution and brightness, ensuring clear and vibrant displays for everyday tasks such as browsing and video streaming. However, in fields like engineering and design, professionals require accurate color representation for which color gamuts are crucial; here, both laptops provide good support for industry-standard color spaces, aiding in precision work. Yet, when it comes to gaming and 3D applications, a high refresh rate is paramount for fluid motion, and both models fall short in this respect, potentially leading to less smooth visuals during fast-paced scenes.

How the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i compare to other laptops
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
