If you prioritize longevity and business-related features, the HP EliteBook 845 G9, with its higher price, might be more suitable, offering more RAM, a premium design, and Windows 11 Pro. However, if budget is a concern and you want a larger screen, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" could be a better option as it costs less, and despite its lower RAM, it compensates with a touchscreen and Windows 11 Home. Both laptops share similar storage and processors, but the Lenovo's battery capacity is slightly larger. Consider the HP for robust business use and the Lenovo for budget-friendliness with a slight edge in battery life. Give Feedback

The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 offers a high-resolution display with impressive brightness, providing crisp and clear visuals suitable for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work, but its lower refresh rate limits its capability for smooth visuals in fast-paced gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" has a display that's adequate for day-to-day activities and moderate engineering tasks, but the overall visual fidelity might not be as striking due to less vibrant color reproduction. Both laptops may fall short for gaming or handling 3D content due to the lack of high refresh rates, which are essential for seamless motion and reducing motion blur during rapid scene changes.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 and Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" are both good for general use.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 excels in general use with a higher RAM capacity and a brighter, higher resolution screen with better color coverage which is essential for tasks requiring visual accuracy, while also offering a solid build and good heat management. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" offers a slightly larger screen and a better battery capacity that can be more appealing for users needing a device for extended, untethered use, albeit with a lower RAM which may limit multitasking performance; it also has a touchscreen, which adds versatility for daily tasks.

The HP EliteBook 845 G9 and Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 with an AMD Radeon 660M GPU and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" with an AMD Ryzen 7 5825U Vega 8 GPU both have moderate graphics capabilities suited for lighter gaming and 3D applications; however, their standard 60Hz screen refresh rates limit the smoothness of fast-paced games. Both laptops have IPS screens with good color and viewing angles, but the CPUs and screen quality, while decent, don't match the high-end requirements that dedicated gaming or high-end engineering laptops usually offer.

How the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is convincing due to its long battery life. The device scores points especially with its large battery and long battery runtimes combined with its low consumption. The CPU and GPU perform in the test as one would expect, and in line with what was familiar from the somewhat smaller 14-inch sister model, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14."
