The Gigabyte Aorus 5 is typically much more expensive but offers higher performance for 3D, machine learning, and gaming due to its powerful CPU and GPU. It's heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is much less expensive, more portable with longer battery life, and has a higher resolution touchscreen display. However, its integrated graphics and processor are less suitable for heavy tasks, like intensive engineering ones, gaming, or advanced graphics work. Choose the Gigabyte if performance is key and you're less concerned about cost and portability, or the Lenovo IdeaPad for casual use, portability, and affordability, with decent performance for everyday tasks. The Gigabyte Aorus 5 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aorus 5 outperforms the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro for gaming and 3D applications due to its superior Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 360 Hz, compared to the IdeaPad's integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Even though the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro offers a higher resolution display and potentially better screen quality, the GPU and refresh rate are more critical for a smooth and responsive gaming experience.

The Gigabyte Aorus 5 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro for gaming and AI, and content creation, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the Gigabyte Aorus 5 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro offer high resolution and brightness, but the Lenovo wins out with a superior panel that provides crisper images and better viewing angles. When it comes to engineering and design, Lenovo further stands ahead with its wider color gamut coverage, making it more suitable for professional color work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short because they lack a high refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth motion rendering in fast-paced visual content.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
