The Gigabyte Aorus 5, while more expensive, offers higher performance with its advanced Intel i7 processor and dedicated Nvidia RTX graphics card, making it well-suited for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning. The Aorus 5 is less portable given its weight and shorter battery life, whereas the IdeaPad is lighter with better battery life, favoring those on the go. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 5 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, factors like the sharpness, clarity, and brightness of the screen on both the Gigabyte Aorus 5 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 ensure comfortable viewing of documents, web pages, and media, despite their less than optimal performance for gaming due to lower refresh rates. Meanwhile, professionals in engineering and design benefit from the accurate colors and broad color gamuts of these laptops, which are critical for precision work, but might find them lacking for 3D applications where faster screen refresh rates are essential to keep up with rapid movements and provide smooth visuals. While both laptops serve well for productivity and professional tasks, gamers and 3D artists should consider other options tailored to their high refresh rate requirements.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
