When choosing between the Gigabyte Aorus 17G and the Razer Blade 18, consider that the Aorus 17G is usually less expensive and has a longer battery life, which can be crucial for extended use without charging. The Razer Blade 18, on the other hand, boasts better overall performance, which is especially noticeable in gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks due to its more powerful processor and graphics card, making it well suited for high-demand applications. The Blade 18 also has a higher-quality build, screen, speakers, and webcam. If portability is a concern, both models are comparable in size and weight, with the Blade 18 being slightly heavier. Therefore, if your budget allows for a higher-priced laptop and you need top-level performance for demanding tasks, the Razer Blade 18 is a strong option, whereas the Gigabyte Aorus 17G offers good performance at a lower price point with better battery longevity. NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2021
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."

PCMag

Matthew Buzzi | March 2023
"Razer made a powerful laptop in the Blade 18, showing off a beautiful and fast display and the same high-quality build we’ve come to expect from this product line. It’s also quite expensive, which is hardly a surprise, but bears repeating even in this price range. It’s pricier than the Scar 18 despite an inferior GPU and half the storage, so you really have to want the Blade 18’s design to justify the cost."
