The Gigabyte Aorus 17G is a high-performance laptop at a premium price, designed primarily for gaming and engineering tasks. It comes with an ample battery capacity but has a moderate six-hour battery life due to its powerful Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics unit, which provide excellent general, 3D/Machine Learning, and engineering performance. This laptop has a large 17.3-inch display with a high refresh rate for smooth visuals, but the resolution is standard Full HD, not 4K. Its IPS panel offers good color coverage and brightness. While its build and keyboard quality are noted to be excellent, its weight of nearly six pounds and thickness make it less portable compared to lighter options. It also includes features like a backlit keyboard with a number pad, hardware ray tracing, and DLSS support, enhancing both work and gaming experiences. However, its battery life and weight make it less suitable for those who need to work on the go. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2021
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
