If you prioritize a larger screen, a higher resolution for sharper image quality, and superior performance for 3D and engineering tasks, the Razer Blade 18 is an excellent choice, albeit at a higher price. It also has better built-in speakers and a webcam, but it's slightly heavier and has shorter battery life for general use. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17, on the other hand, offers a high refresh rate display and longer battery life at a somewhat lower price, with performance suitable for most gaming and general use, but it doesn't match the Razer in terms of raw power for the most intensive tasks. NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | May 2021
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."

PCMag

Matthew Buzzi | March 2023
"Razer made a powerful laptop in the Blade 18, showing off a beautiful and fast display and the same high-quality build we’ve come to expect from this product line. It’s also quite expensive, which is hardly a surprise, but bears repeating even in this price range. It’s pricier than the Scar 18 despite an inferior GPU and half the storage, so you really have to want the Blade 18’s design to justify the cost."
