The Aero 16 offers a higher resolution OLED display which is great for color accuracy, making it ideal for graphic design and video editing, but it can be more expensive and may not be optimal for gaming due to its lower refresh rate. On the other hand, the Aorus 17G comes with an IPS display that has a higher refresh rate, favorable for gaming and ensuring smoother visual performance. While the Aero 16 is less portable due to its larger screen and heavier weight, it compensates with a better battery life than the Aorus 17G. If budget is less of a concern and you need a high-performing machine primarily for content creation, the Aero 16 is the better option, whereas the Aorus 17G is more suited for avid gamers looking for a robust gaming laptop despite its shorter battery life. How the Gigabyte Aero 16 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
