If you prefer a laptop that performs better for engineering tasks, 3D applications, machine learning, or gaming, the Gigabyte A5 with its stronger graphics card and processor may be the better option despite being more expensive. However, if portability and battery life are more important, and the tasks are less intensive, the HP Victus 15 offers a better value with its lower price, though with slightly lower performance capabilities. The HP also has a slightly larger battery, which might translate to longer usage between charges compared to the Gigabyte A5. Each laptop has its own strengths, so consider what’s more important for your everyday use or specific tasks when making your decision. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte A5 is good for gaming and AI, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The Gigabyte A5 is better equipped for gaming and 3D tasks due to its higher-end Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU compared to the HP Victus 15's RTX 3050, which provides a boost in graphical power for more demanding games and applications. Both laptops have the same screen refresh rate, which is critical for smooth gaming experiences, but the Gigabyte's advantage in GPU performance is a key differentiator in this context.

The Gigabyte A5 is good for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The Gigabyte A5 stands out for engineering and design use due to its more powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU and a higher amount of RAM which provides better multitasking and rendering capabilities; additionally, it offers better screen color coverage, important for design accuracy. The HP Victus 15, while also suitable for engineering with its Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and adequate RAM, is lesser in terms of GPU performance and color coverage, but it offers a somewhat more updated CPU and could be more portable given its slightly lighter weight.

The Gigabyte A5 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the Gigabyte A5 and HP Victus 15 offer pleasing visuals with sufficient resolution and brightness that make everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos engaging, but their panel types are particularly suited for vibrant and sharp images. In engineering and design, the Gigabyte A5 excels due to wider color gamut coverage, ensuring more accurate color reproduction for detailed work, whereas the HP Victus 15's fair color gamut results in less precision for color-sensitive tasks. When it comes to 3D and gaming, the lower refresh rates on both laptops may lead to less fluid motion and slower response times, which are detriments to a high-quality gaming experience despite their acceptable resolution and panel types.

How the Gigabyte A5 and the HP Victus 15 compare to other laptops
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
