The HP 14" Laptop has double the storage and twice the RAM of the Gateway 14.1", plus a more powerful AMD Ryzen processor capable of handling general use and more demanding tasks like engineering more adeptly. Its overall build quality, keyboard, and battery life also rate higher. This makes the HP more suitable for multitasking and intensive work, but it is more expensive. The Gateway, while more affordable, offers lower performance, suitable for basic tasks and light use due to its Intel Celeron processor and modest specifications. Neither is suitable for intensive gaming or high-level creative tasks that involve heavy 3D rendering or machine learning. Give Feedback

The HP 14" Laptop is only fair for general use, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The Gateway 14.1" laptop's general use suffers due to its lower-end Intel Celeron processor, less RAM, and poor keyboard quality, whereas the HP 14" Laptop is equipped with a more powerful AMD Ryzen 5 processor, double the RAM, and a fair keyboard quality which enhances its performance and usability for general tasks. Additionally, the Gateway's limited storage and lower screen color quality further impact its adequacy for everyday use compared to the HP, which offers more storage and better screen colors.

The HP 14" Laptop has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Gateway and HP laptops have screens with basic resolution and brightness that are suitable for tasks like browsing and office work, but may lack the sharpness and vibrancy found in higher-end displays. In engineering and design, these laptops have fair screen quality because they provide adequate color representation for casual design work, yet they don't cover the wider color gamuts professionals look for in high-precision tasks. When it comes to gaming and 3D, both models fall short because they sport lower refresh rates, which means less fluid motion and response times, impacting the gaming experience and 3D rendering tasks.

How the Gateway 14.1" and the HP 14" Laptop compare to other laptops
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
"This feels like an ideal laptop for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a laptop and isn’t too bothered by things like build quality or construction. It’s a laptop that will be used to pay bills, keep track of expenses, do some online shopping, and will be tucked away in a spare bedroom/home office. It’s an appliance designed to do a job without fuss. It’s not a premium experience—the materials do feel a little cheap, the display won’t exactly wow you, and the battery life is nothing to write home about, especially if you’ve used more expensive devices. But overall it’s not too shabby, especially for the price."
