The Gateway 11.6" is budget-friendly, light, and compact making it highly portable but with limited performance due to its basic processor and low storage and memory capacities; it's suitable for simple tasks like web browsing and document editing. Conversely, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is pricier and slightly heavier but offers far superior performance with a strong processor, high-end graphics, and ample storage and memory, making it ideal for gaming, 3D design, and engineering work, yet it's still reasonably slim and portable for a powerful laptop. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is good for general use, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The Gateway 11.6" has a lower-quality CPU, less RAM, and a lower resolution screen, which make it less suitable for general use compared to the Lenovo Legion Slim 7, which boasts a more powerful CPU, more RAM, and a higher quality screen for better performance and visuals. Additionally, the Gateway's excellent portability is overshadowed by its poor screen quality and potential battery life shortcomings, whereas the Lenovo offers very good portability without compromising on performance or battery life, accommodating more demanding tasks and prolonged use.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen than the Gateway 11.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Gateway 11.6" likely has a basic display with lower resolution and brightness, making it less suitable for tasks requiring sharp, vibrant visuals, which is why it's rated poorly across uses. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" probably offers higher resolution and better brightness, ensuring clarity and ease of use for general tasks and detail-oriented work like engineering and design, thanks to a wider color gamut. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the Legion's poor rating suggests it has a lower refresh rate, which can make fast-paced visuals less smooth and less immersive.

"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
