The Dell Inspiron 15 3520 is a budget-friendly option suitable for general use with a more portable design and better battery life; however, the performance is modest compared to the HP Envy 17, which boasts a more powerful processor and graphics suitable for more demanding tasks like 3D rendering and engineering work. The Envy 17, while costing more, also offers a larger, touch-enabled screen, more memory, and storage. However, it is heavier, making it less ideal for frequent travel. The balance between affordability and everyday use versus higher performance and enhanced features should guide your purchase decision. Give Feedback

PCMag

Mark Knapp | January 2023
"Dell's Inspiron 15 (3525) is a peppy-enough and affordable-enough home or remote work machine, but it's not very ambitious; it does little to go beyond the basics. More the concern: It’s readily overshadowed by a number of machines that outperform and outclass it. Even if the Inspiron can get the job done today, its competition has the mettle to keep doing the job tomorrow in a way the Inspiron simply can’t promise. Plus, those alternatives are much more enjoyable after work."

Marcus Schwarten | April 2023
"In our test, the HP Envy 17-cr0079ng presents itself as a balanced multimedia laptop. Thanks to its solid CPU performance and dedicated entry-level GeForce, it can also be used for playing video games, as long as the demands aren't too high. Those looking for more can find it in the Dell XPS 17 for example."
