If you prioritize portability and battery life, the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 is lighter and has longer battery longevity, which makes it easy to carry around and use for extended periods without charging. However, if your focus is on performance and you engage in activities such as gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning, the HP Victus 15 offers a more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card that significantly outperform the Dell in these areas but at the cost of being heavier and with a shorter battery life. The higher refresh rate on the HP screen can also provide a smoother visual experience, which can be especially beneficial for gaming. Although the Dell is less expensive, the additional investment in the HP Victus 15 may be justified for users with more demanding performance needs. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for software development, and content creation, while the HP Victus 15 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, the Dell Inspiron 15 3511's display offers adequate sharpness and visibility, but may not be as bright or vibrant as the HP Victus 15, which delivers better overall visual quality and color reproduction. For engineering and design tasks, the HP Victus 15's screen, while offering fair performance due to its color coverage, doesn't match specialized screens with higher color gamut accuracy, a weakness shared with the Dell Inspiron. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short due to their lower refresh rates and the HP's better resolution and panel type only moderately compensating for this shortcoming.

The HP Victus 15 and Dell Inspiron 15 3511 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 has an integrated GPU and a standard screen refresh rate, making it capable yet not ideal for gaming and 3D tasks, while the HP Victus 15 includes a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU for better graphical performance and a higher screen refresh rate, offering smoother visuals for gaming and 3D applications. However, the Victus 15's improvements in GPU and refresh rate come at the cost of decreased portability due to a higher weight compared to the Inspiron 15 3511.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Inspiron 15 3511 to be good for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 with a capable processor and ample RAM is well-suited for engineering and design tasks, and its screen quality is decent for such work, but it uses integrated graphics which may not handle intensive graphical tasks as well as a dedicated GPU. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15, while also having a capable processor and a high-refresh-rate screen, comes with a dedicated Nvidia GPU, which provides better performance for graphic-intensive engineering software and design work, but it has less RAM which could limit performance with complex projects.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 and the HP Victus 15 compare to other laptops
"The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 (3511) is a solid, if unremarkable, 15-inch budget laptop. It improves on many of the issues we had with the previous 3505 model, and with the inclusion of Windows 11, the 3511 is already a step above its competition. The lack of a USB-C port, the subpar speakers, and the dim display are drawbacks to factor in, but it's still one of the better 15-inch budget laptops on the market, especially when you consider it's under $400."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
