If price is a deciding factor, the Lenovo Flex 5 16 is usually less expensive than the Dell Inspiron 14 7425, but if battery life is crucial, you may prefer the Dell which has a slightly longer battery life. Both laptops have similar storage and memory capacity, and though the Dell has a smaller 14-inch display, the Lenovo’s 16-inch screen offers a higher resolution. The Inspiron is more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller size, making it easier to carry around, while the Flex has a better display for tasks like photo editing or multimedia consumption. Both are suitable for general use, with the Dell potentially offering better gaming experiences given its GPU. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Flex 5 16 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 14 7425 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7425, with its fair screen quality, offers adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks but may lack the vibrancy needed for precise engineering and design work. The Lenovo Flex 5 16, with its good screen quality, provides sharper visuals and a wider color range, making it more suitable for detailed work in engineering and design, though it still falls short for gaming due to a lower refresh rate. Both laptops have drawbacks for gaming and 3D applications, primarily because they don't support the faster refresh rates required for smooth motion and immersive experiences.

The Lenovo Flex 5 16 and Dell Inspiron 14 7425 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7425 with AMD Ryzen 7 Vega 8 graphics and the Lenovo Flex 5 16 with Intel Iris Xe graphics both offer fair performance for gaming and 3D tasks because their integrated GPUs provide adequate but not top-tier graphics processing power. Both laptops have a 60Hz screen refresh rate, which is acceptable for casual gaming but might not be as smooth as higher refresh rates preferred for competitive gaming; however, the quality of their IPS screens contributes positively to the visual experience.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Lenovo Flex 5 16 to be good for engineering and design, while the Dell Inspiron 14 7425 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7425 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor and integrated Vega 8 graphics, which, along with its 16 GB of RAM, makes it a solid option for engineering and design tasks; while its smaller screen and lower resolution compared to the Lenovo Flex 5 16 might not be optimal for detailed visual work, it is more portable. On the other hand, the Lenovo Flex 5 16 boasts a higher screen resolution, which is beneficial for detailed design work, and it has an Intel processor with Iris Xe graphics that support such tasks, but it is slightly heavier and bulkier, making it less portable than the Dell.

How the Dell Inspiron 14 7425 and the Lenovo Flex 5 16 compare to other laptops
"Overall, this Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 offers a lot to like, especially at its oft-discounted price of $800. It’s a sturdy laptop with strong performance, a convertible touchscreen, loud speakers, and a convenient fingerprint reader. But the trade-offs you’ll make in pursuit of that lower price—most notably the dim display and stiff trackpad—might just keep you from outright loving it."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is a solidly equipped, 2-in-1 in the lower price segment. Performance is definitely sufficient for everyday tasks and in tests the battery proved itself to be very economical. That aside, there is a lot of standard fare on show and a search for real highlights ends in vain. The low color coverage and reflective display can be avoided by going for an optional 2.5K display but this also presumably results in poorer battery life. The cooling uses only one fan and leads to a raised temperature on one side of the device under load. Additionally, there is very loud fan noise, also under load or when gaming. On top of that, we also occasionally noticed electronic noises."
