The Dell Alienware m18 R1 is a high-end laptop with a large screen, high storage, and powerful processor and GPU, suited for gaming and intensive engineering tasks, but is expensive and heavy, making it less portable with a shorter battery life. The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is more affordable, lighter, and has longer battery life, making it more portable for general use, but it has less storage, lower performance components, and is not as suited for demanding games or 3D/machine learning tasks. Choose the Alienware if you need top performance and can handle lower portability, or the IdeaPad for everyday tasks with better mobility and battery life. Give Feedback

The Dell Alienware m18 R1 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is good.
The Dell Alienware m18 R1 excels in general use due to its powerful CPU, ample RAM, high-quality IPS screen with higher resolution, and robust speaker quality, but suffers from low portability and shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", which offers decent CPU performance, a fair amount of RAM, an IPS screen with standard resolution, better battery life, and portability. While the Lenovo is more travel-friendly and lasts longer on a charge, the Dell provides a more potent and visually richer experience for demanding tasks, despite being heavier and quicker to drain its battery.

The Dell Alienware m18 R1 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Dell Alienware m18 R1's screen offers high resolution and brightness, which enhances the clarity and detail for general use and engineering tasks, and its wide color gamut supports precise color work needed in engineering and design. However, its lower refresh rate makes it less ideal for gaming and 3D applications, where high refresh rates are critical for smooth motion. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has just fair screen attributes across the board, meaning it provides adequate screen quality for everyday tasks and some design work but falls short for high-end gaming and professional 3D rendering due to its average color range and refresh rate.

"Dell's Alienware m18 delivers on its promises: This is a large, powerful gaming laptop with the premium flair and feel you expect from an expensive purchase. The drawbacks are really the price and battery life, which in context are reasonable. (We'd also like to see more ports on the laptop's sides.) This price tier exists for deep-pocketed enthusiasts, and if you’re considering anything in this range, the m18 isn’t an outlier. For the majority of shoppers, of course, all of these mighty 18-inch systems are likely too expensive."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
