The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo is a midrange laptop with a high-resolution OLED touchscreen, powerful Intel processor, and ample storage and RAM for demanding tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning. Its dual-screen setup makes it less portable than the MSI Modern 14. The MSI Modern 14, on the other hand, is more affordable, lighter, and has decent performance for general use with a conventional single-screen IPS display, making it suitable for business productivity. If top-tier creative performance is crucial, especially for intense graphics tasks, consider the ZenBook Pro, but for everyday use with better portability and a lower price, the MSI Modern 14 fits well. The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo is very good for general use, while the MSI Modern 14 is good.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo excels in general use due to its powerful CPU, high-resolution OLED touchscreen, and substantial RAM, making multitasking and media consumption a delight, albeit with a heavier build and less portability than some may prefer. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 offers good general performance with a capable AMD CPU and enough RAM for everyday tasks, packaged in a more portable and lightweight frame, but with a less impressive screen and smaller storage capacity.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo and MSI Modern 14 are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo is somewhat better.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo is equipped with a high refresh rate OLED screen and a powerful Intel GPU, making it suitable for gaming and 3D applications, while the MSI Modern 14 has an IPS screen with a standard refresh rate and a modest AMD GPU, which makes it less capable for such demanding tasks. Furthermore, the ASUS model's superior screen quality and GPU performance justify its better suitability for gaming and 3D scenarios compared to the MSI model.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo is very good for engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo has a higher-end CPU, double the RAM, and a superior OLED screen that offers better colour accuracy and contrast which is crucial for engineering and design applications; whereas the MSI Modern 14 has less computing power and a more basic screen but is lighter and more portable, making it suitable for less demanding tasks and on-the-go use. While both have good build quality and are capable in their own rights, the ZenBook's screen quality and performance specs are preferable for intensive tasks, albeit with a tradeoff in portability and potentially higher operating noise due to more powerful components.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo flaunts a brighter display with higher resolution, which enhances visibility and clarity for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work, also offering wider color coverage that is crucial for precision in design. However, its standard refresh rate limits its appeal for gaming and 3D applications where smoother motion is a priority. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14's more modest screen quality yields adequate performance for casual use and engineering tasks, but its limitations in color range and refresh rate mean it isn't ideal for high-end design work or fluid, fast-paced gaming.

"The Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is a well-tuned instrument for content creators, excelling at a range of general office tasks as well as tasks that require a little more grunt like encoding and 3D rendering. The big attraction is the laptop’s dual displays. They’re the best ones we’ve used in an Asus Zenbook Duo laptop to date with a spate of year-on-year improvements that make the visuals more striking and the cross-screen integration easier than ever before."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
