The ASUS Zenbook Flip S13 is a high-performance 2-in-1 convertible laptop that can be used as both a laptop and a tablet; it features a much sharper screen, more storage, and a higher amount of memory with a powerful Intel i7 processor, suitable for intensive tasks like 3D modeling, machine learning, or gaming. It's lighter and thinner, enhancing portability, and it comes with Windows 10 Pro. On the other hand, the Gateway 14.1" laptop is far more affordable, with modest specs like an Intel Celeron processor, less memory, and storage, fit for general use such as web browsing and document editing. It's heavier and thicker, which might affect portability, and it runs Windows 10S, which is more limited in software compatibility. So, if budget is a primary concern and your needs are basic, the Gateway could be a practical choice, while if you need higher performance for demanding tasks and prefer a versatile design, the ASUS is a better option despite the higher cost. The ASUS Zenbook Flip S13 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The ASUS Zenbook Flip S13 offers better performance for gaming and 3D applications due to its superior Intel i7 processor and Intel Iris Xe graphics, along with a high-resolution display that enhances screen quality. On the other hand, the Gateway 14.1" is less suited for these tasks as it comes with a less powerful Intel Celeron processor and Intel UHD Graphics 600, which are less capable of handling intensive graphics and computational tasks, plus it only has a standard full HD display.

The ASUS Zenbook Flip S13 has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook Flip S13 offers a high-resolution screen with vibrant colors and brightness, which enhances the viewing experience for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work, but its typical refresh rate limits its appeal for gaming and 3D applications that require smoother motion. The Gateway 14.1", while having a decent resolution and adequate brightness for everyday use and entry-level design tasks, falls short in providing the wide color gamut professionals need for precise color work. For gaming and 3D, both laptops are not ideal, as they don't have the high refresh rates required for the best visual fluidity and responsiveness in fast-paced visual environments.

"The Asus Zenbook S 13 Flip is an ultra-sleek 2-in-1 convertible. A gorgeous OLED screen and lightweight magnesium chassis make this convertible a traveller’s dream. Its SSD isn’t fast, but it won’t hold you back in everyday use. Its battery life also isn’t class leading, but it’s hardly off the pace. Overall, the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED holds its head high in the premium convertible category and is a smaller alternative to the Spectre x360 13.5 and the Yoga 9i Gen 7."
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
