The ASUS Zenbook 14X is often less expensive and offers higher portability with a light build and longer battery life, making it suitable for general daily usage and travel. Its OLED screen is exceptional for vivid colors and contrast which benefits media consumption. However, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, while more expensive and heavier, delivers much stronger performance with advanced components like a high-end graphics card, making it a better fit for demanding tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and intensive gaming. It also features better cooling but has a shorter battery life which could limit mobility. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is very good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X is good.
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro stands out for engineering and design due to its high-performance AMD Ryzen CPU and Nvidia RTX GPU which are better suited for demanding tasks, plus a higher capacity battery, compared to the Asus Zenbook 14X's Intel CPU and Nvidia MX GPU. While the Zenbook 14X offers great screen quality with its OLED display and is more portable, the Legion 5 Pro's larger screen and superior hardware make it more capable for intensive workloads, despite being heavier and less portable.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 for general use, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 has a better screen for gaming and AI, and software development.
For general use, both the ASUS Zenbook 14X and Lenovo Legion Pro 5 feature screens with high resolution and brightness, offering clear and vivid displays that enhance everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos. In the context of engineering and design, both laptops provide a wide color gamut, crucial for accurately rendering colors in detailed projects and professional work that demand color precision. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short due to lower refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion and responsiveness, detracting from the immersive experience that is vital for fast-paced games and real-time 3D rendering.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
