The ASUS Zenbook 14X is less expensive and more portable, with a high-resolution OLED screen and decent performance for general use, making it suitable for day-to-day tasks and light graphics work. The Gigabyte Aero 17 is pricier, less portable due to its larger screen and heavier build, but offers significantly better performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, thanks to a more powerful CPU and GPU. It also has a higher resolution Mini LED display, which is advantageous for creative work that demands color accuracy. The Aero 17's larger display and more robust hardware make it more capable for intensive gaming and professional creative applications, but this comes at the cost of portability and higher price. How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the Gigabyte Aero 17 compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
"Not only is the Aero 17 a very good laptop for gamers but also for content creators. With the upgrade to the Intel Core i9-11980HK, Gigabyte particularly improved the system performance. In addition, the hardware package is rounded by the extremely fast SSD and 32 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode. Compared to the predecessor, the battery life is reduced only moderately, and the 4K display also basically keeps its good qualities."
