If you prioritize a high-quality display, the ASUS Zenbook 14X with its OLED screen offers better colors and brightness compared to the Dell Latitude 5431. However, for extended battery life and robust build quality aimed for business use, you might prefer the Latitude. The Zenbook stands out for general media consumption and color-sensitive work, whereas the Latitude suits professionals needing durability and longer unplugging. The Zenbook's additional graphics performance benefits light gaming or creative applications, but if cost and portability take precedence, and your use is more productivity-focused, the Latitude could serve you better. The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 5431 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X offers a high-resolution screen with excellent color accuracy and brightness, making text sharp and images vivid for everyday tasks and professional design work, but for gaming and 3D, its standard refresh rate might not provide the smooth visuals serious gamers seek. The Dell Latitude 5431's screen, while adequate for day-to-day activities and some design tasks, doesn't offer the same level of color precision or brightness, possibly making it less desirable for those prioritizing display quality. Gamers and 3D enthusiasts would find both laptops lacking due to their lower refresh rates, which can't deliver the fluid motion required for optimal gaming and 3D rendering experiences.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X and Dell Latitude 5431 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X offers better gaming and 3D performance with its dedicated Nvidia MX550 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 90Hz, compared to the Dell Latitude 5431 which uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate. While both have quality displays and capable CPUs, the GPU and refresh rate are more critical for these tasks, making the ASUS the better choice for gaming and 3D irrespective of its screen quality having higher resolution and the Dell's longer battery life.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the Dell Latitude 5431 compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
