The ASUS Zenbook 14X is the more portable and affordable choice with good battery life, making it suitable for general use and it has a high-resolution OLED display which is great for media consumption. The Zenbook Pro 17, while more expensive, offers a larger IPS display and stronger performance due to a more powerful processor and graphics card, making it better suited for intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming, but it is less portable and has lesser battery life. If portability and cost are your priorities, choose the 14X; for better performance in demanding applications, go with the Pro 17. Give Feedback

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is very good for general use, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X is good.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X offers great general use performance with its higher-resolution OLED screen for crisp visuals and a moderately powerful CPU and RAM configuration that handles everyday tasks smoothly, yet with its smaller screen size, it provides better portability compared to the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17. However, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17, with a larger screen and a very powerful processor, is better suited for more demanding applications and multitasking, at the cost of being less portable and having a lower-resolution display. Both laptops offer reasonable battery life, but considerations such as heat management and fan noise are also important, with the Pro 17 having better heat management which could be a deciding factor for extensive use.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X likely boasts a high-resolution display with excellent brightness and a panel type that renders crisp and vivid images, making it ideal for general work and precision tasks in engineering and design due to accurate color representation. The Zenbook Pro 17, slightly larger, also provides good visual clarity and color accuracy, suitable for professionals who need a bigger screen for multitasking and detailed designs. However, both laptops may have lower refresh rates that are less optimal for gaming and 3D applications, which require smoother motion and quicker image changes to enhance the user experience.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 and ASUS Zenbook 14X are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X is fair for gaming and 3D due to its less powerful Nvidia MX550 GPU and higher screen refresh rate of 90Hz, while the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 performs better in these areas because it is equipped with the more powerful Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU but has a lower refresh rate of 60Hz. How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
