The ASUS Zenbook 14X offers a more powerful Intel i7 processor and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card, making it suitable for more intensive tasks such as engineering or 3D work, while the Zenbook 14X OLED comes with a slightly less powerful i5 processor and integrated graphics but includes a touchscreen and better contrast ratio for superior display quality. Both have OLED screens, similarly sized batteries, and are priced similarly, but the Zenbook 14X has double the RAM of the 14X OLED, potentially offering smoother multitasking. If top-notch display quality for general use is a high priority, the Zenbook 14X OLED might be a better fit, but if performance in demanding applications is necessary, the Zenbook 14X with more RAM and the dedicated graphics card is advisable. The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook 14X for general use, and gaming and AI.
For general use, the ASUS Zenbook 14X models have screens with high resolution and brightness, making text, images, and videos look sharp and clear, which enhances everyday tasks like browsing and document editing. For engineering and design tasks, their screens cover a broad range of colors, ensuring that professionals who require color accuracy for their work can rely on these displays for precise color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates of the Zenbook 14X models may result in less fluid motion and responsiveness, which is less ideal for fast-paced games or high-speed visuals.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X and ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X with an Nvidia MX550 graphics card is fair for gaming and 3D due to its moderate GPU which is not as powerful as dedicated gaming graphics cards and a decent screen refresh rate of 90Hz, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED, despite a higher screen refresh rate of 120Hz, relies on an integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU which is less capable for demanding gaming or 3D tasks compared to dedicated GPUs. Both models have high-quality OLED screens but lack the high-end graphics processors or extremely high refresh rates desired for more advanced gaming and 3D modeling work.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
"While one of the more budget-friendly configurations of the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED may make a compelling case as a top value pick, it’s difficult to be disappointed with the more expensive model we reviewed here. At its core, for all models, it’s a luxury-built laptop with extreme portability and a gorgeous OLED display. Our unit rocks with a snappy Core i9 processor for getting real work done, and the discrete GPU—even if it has a clear power ceiling—is a bonus for creative pros."
