For a balance of performance and portability with a stunning OLED display suited for general use and creative tasks, the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED is a strong choice. It offers a high-resolution screen with vibrant colors and wide color gamut coverage, making it excellent for media consumption and light photo editing. The laptop's powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and dedicated Intel Arc graphics provide smooth performance for everyday tasks and some light gaming or engineering work. The 120Hz refresh rate enhances the visual experience for fast-moving content. However, it's heavier and has a larger footprint, which might affect its portability.
On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 is more budget-friendly and notably lighter, making it a better option if you prioritize portability and are looking for a reliable machine for general office tasks, web browsing, and casual use. Its AMD Ryzen 5 processor and integrated Vega graphics are capable of handling basic computing needs efficiently. The battery life is decent, and the laptop's compact design makes it easy to carry around. However, its display isn't as advanced as the ASUS, with a standard IPS panel and lower resolution, which might not be as satisfying for media enthusiasts or professionals who require color accuracy.
In summary, if you value a superior display, better performance for light creative work, and don't mind a bit of extra weight, go for the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED. If you need a lightweight, cost-effective laptop for everyday tasks and value portability, the MSI Modern 14 would be the better option. Give Feedback

How the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
