For a balance of performance and portability with a stunning OLED display, the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED is a strong contender. It offers a larger screen with higher resolution, making it ideal for detailed visual work and entertainment. The Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Intel Arc GPU provide ample power for general use and moderate engineering tasks, though it may not excel in intensive gaming or 3D rendering compared to the HP. Its battery life is decent, and the laptop is relatively lightweight, making it suitable for on-the-go use. On the other hand, the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" is designed for those who prioritize productivity and battery life. The AMD Ryzen 7 processor and Radeon 680M GPU deliver solid performance for everyday tasks and can handle light gaming or machine learning tasks. The touchscreen IPS display, while not as vibrant as OLED, offers good color accuracy and brightness for general use. It also boasts a more robust port selection, including Thunderbolt ports, and a backlit keyboard with a number pad, which is great for typing in dim environments. The HP is slightly heavier but still maintains a high level of portability. Ultimately, choose the ASUS for its superior display and multimedia experience, and opt for the HP for its longer battery life, productivity features, and broader connectivity options. Give Feedback

Brendan Nystedt | March 2023
"I’d say that the HP Dragonfly Pro checks off most of the boxes for this freelancer. It feels nice to use, is zippy and responsive, has great speakers, and even has a relatively sane price. Although it’s an unorthodox choice to pick AMD for this kind of machine, it’s clear that when Ryzen is given a chance to shine, it can kick a lot of butt."
