The ASUS Vivobook 17 offers a larger screen and slightly more storage, making it appealing for users seeking a more spacious display for multitasking and media consumption, but it is somewhat heavier which impacts its portability compared to the HP 15" Laptop. The HP is generally less expensive and more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller size, suitable for users who prioritize ease of carrying and budget-friendliness. Both feature similar processors and RAM, but if longer battery life or a numeric keypad is crucial for your workflow, the ASUS is the better choice, despite the lesser portability and higher price. Neither is ideal for intensive gaming or high-end 3D tasks, but both are well-suited for general use and light engineering applications. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 17 has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for software development, and content creation.
Both the ASUS Vivobook 17 and the HP 15" Laptop have screens that are adequate for day-to-day tasks and standard engineering applications due to their sufficient resolution and brightness, but they may not have the high color accuracy and extensive color gamuts that professional designers require for precise work. For gaming and 3D applications, these laptops fall short as they don’t offer the high refresh rates needed for smooth visuals during rapid motion, and the resolution and panel quality may not meet the demands of high-end gaming or immersive 3D experiences. Thus, while they can handle general computing and some technical work, they are not ideal for color-critical tasks or for users who prioritize gaming performance.

How the ASUS Vivobook 17 and the HP 15" Laptop compare to other laptops
"The ASUS Vivobook 17 is an affordable 17-inch laptop with passive cooling. On one hand, you get a really quiet and cool work device with a good system performance, many connections, good maintenance options, speakers acceptable for multimedia enjoyment, and a sharp and clear matte FHD IPS display with the Asus VivoBook 17 (F712JA). On the other hand, the USB-C port lacks Power Delivery and DisplayPort, and the display, a higher brightness and better color space coverage."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
