If saving money is a priority and you need a computer for general tasks like web browsing, working with documents, and occasional media consumption, the ASUS Vivobook 16X is a solid choice. However, if you require high performance for gaming, 3D modeling, machine learning tasks, or software engineering, and are willing to invest in a more expensive option, the MSI Raider GE78 offers superior processing power and graphics capabilities. Be aware that the Raider may also have a shorter battery life due to its powerful components and may be less portable due to its size and weight. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 is very good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 16X is good.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X serves well for general use due to its adequate processor, ample RAM, and a quality IPS screen, while remaining lighter and thus more portable compared to the MSI Raider GE78. On the other hand, the MSI Raider GE78 excels in general use with its more powerful CPU, superior RAM capacity, and higher quality display with greater brightness and color accuracy, albeit at the expense of being heavier and less portable.

The MSI Raider GE78 is best in class for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 16X is good.
The MSI Raider GE78 is best for gaming and 3D because it has a higher-end graphics card, the Nvidia RTX 4090, and a screen with a faster refresh rate of 240 Hz, which is important for smooth gameplay and rendering. The ASUS Vivobook 16X, while also good for these purposes, offers a mid-range graphics card, the Nvidia RTX 4060, and a lower screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, trading off some performance for possibly better value.

The MSI Raider GE78 is excellent for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 16X is very good.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is well-suited for engineering and design with a capable CPU, ample RAM, and a quality GPU, factors that support complex tasks and visual work, although the MSI Raider GE78 surpasses it by combining an even more powerful CPU, double the RAM, and top-tier GPU, providing exceptional performance necessary for the most demanding engineering software and tasks. The MSI Raider GE78 also has a superior screen resolution and quality, which enhances detail and color accuracy for design work, but it is less portable and noisier than the ASUS Vivobook 16X, which may be a consideration for users who prioritize mobility and a quieter working environment.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16X for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a clear and vibrant display for daily tasks and engineering applications, the Asus Vivobook 16X offers satisfactory resolution and brightness, but lacks the wider color coverage needed for more professional design work. The MSI Raider GE78 steps up with stronger color accuracy and gamut, making it ideal for engineering and design where precise color representation is critical. However, both fall short for gaming and 3D work due to their low refresh rates, despite having decent resolution and panel types.

"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
