The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers a balance of performance and portability at a midrange price, making it suitable for general use and some engineering tasks with its capable processor and graphics card. Its 16-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio is great for productivity, though the resolution is lower than the MSI. It's also lighter and thinner, with decent battery life, which is ideal if you're often on the move. In contrast, the MSI Raider 18 HX is a powerhouse designed for high-end gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning, thanks to its top-tier processor and graphics card. The larger 18-inch Mini LED display with a higher resolution and touchscreen capability provides an exceptional visual experience, especially for fast-motion content and engineering work that benefits from the higher pixel density and color accuracy. However, its high-end price, heavier weight, and bulkier design mean it's less portable and more suited to stationary use. Additionally, the MSI's battery life is shorter, so you'll need to be near a power outlet more often. Consider the ASUS if you prioritize a lightweight design and need a versatile laptop for everyday tasks with some gaming and engineering capabilities. Opt for the MSI if you require a desktop replacement with unparalleled performance for gaming and professional work, and portability isn't a primary concern. Give Feedback

Kok Kee | February 2023
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
