The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers greater performance, with a more powerful processor and better graphics capabilities, making it suitable for intensive engineering tasks, 3D modeling, machine learning, and gaming. It has a larger screen with a higher resolution, which may enhance productivity and media consumption, but it also tends to be heavier, affecting portability. Conversely, the MSI GF63 Thin is often less expensive, lighter, and thus more portable, but has less storage and memory, and its processor and graphics card are less powerful, making it more suited for general use or lighter gaming. The choice largely depends on your requirements and budget; for higher performance tasks, consider the ASUS Vivobook 16X with its extra cost, while for everyday use and affordability, the MSI GF63 Thin is a compelling option. The ASUS Vivobook 16X is good for general use, while the MSI GF63 Thin is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is armed with a superior processor, more RAM, and a better GPU than the MSI GF63 Thin, making it more capable at handling a variety of tasks smoothly. Additionally, its larger battery, higher screen resolution, and better color coverage contribute to a richer multimedia experience, whereas the MSI offers less storage and a less vibrant display, but compensates with a slightly more compact size and marginally better portability.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is good for gaming and AI, while the MSI GF63 Thin is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is better for gaming and 3D because it has a more powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate of 120, which provide smoother visuals and better overall performance. In contrast, the MSI GF63 Thin's Nvidia GTX 1650 Max-Q is a less capable GPU for gaming, and the lower refresh rate of 60 means games won't appear as smooth.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X has a better screen than the MSI GF63 Thin for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers a display that provides clear and sharp images with high resolution and brightness which makes it suitable for general use, while its expansive color gamut meets the needs of engineering and design professionals who require accurate color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the Vivobook's lower refresh rate may lead to a less smooth experience compared to displays designed for those purposes. On the other hand, the MSI GF63 Thin provides a fair level of clarity and brightness for everyday tasks and is acceptable for engineering and design, but its color gamut is not as broad, and like the Vivobook, its refresh rate is not optimized for the high frame rates preferred in gaming and 3D rendering.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16X and the MSI GF63 Thin compare to other laptops
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
