The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, being more expensive, offers higher performance with an advanced graphics card, making it better suited for intensive gaming, 3D modeling, and machine learning. It also has a larger storage capacity and a more robust build but is heavier and thicker, affecting portability. On the other side, the MSI Thin GF63 is less expensive, slightly lighter and thinner, making it easier to carry around, and still capable for general use and some level of gaming or engineering tasks, though it may not handle high-end demands as effectively as the ASUS. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the MSI Thin GF63 is only fair.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 boasts a more powerful Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU which delivers better performance for gaming and 3D applications than the MSI Thin GF63's Nvidia RTX 4050, and both laptops offer high screen refresh rates of 144Hz for smooth visuals. While screen quality and the CPU are also important, the ASUS's GPU advantage makes it a stronger choice for demanding tasks, though both are well-suited for general gaming and 3D work given their similar refresh rates and screen sizes.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for engineering and design, while the MSI Thin GF63 is good.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, featuring a more powerful CPU and GPU along with a higher capacity storage and battery, excels for engineering and design, while the lighter MSI Thin GF63, despite having a slightly less capable CPU and GPU, still holds up for such purposes but with reduced storage and a less robust battery, potentially making it more portable. Screen quality is comparable in both, but the ASUS stands out with slightly better color coverage which can be a plus for design work; both laptops have decent keyboards and are similarly rated for portability and operating noise, factors that while important, are secondary to performance capabilities for engineering tasks.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the MSI Thin GF63 for general use, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 offers a vibrant and sharp display, suitable for daily tasks and video consumption, but its brightness might be less ideal in very bright environments. When considering engineering and design, this laptop's color accuracy may not meet the standards for professional color-work, as it lacks the wide color gamuts preferred in these fields. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the ASUS falls short as its refresh rate isn't high enough for the smooth visual experience demanded by high-speed gaming or intensive 3D rendering.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the MSI Thin GF63 compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"The MSI GF63 Thin 11SC can be an admirable value for gamers and power users on a minimal budget. For just $599 as reviewed in its base model, its Intel Core i5 H-class processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics perform much better than low-wattage CPUs and integrated graphics. That said, this is a light-class gaming laptop. Low scores in our demanding gaming benchmarks indicate using lower visual-quality settings will be required for playable performance."
