The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, with its powerful processor and high-end graphics card, is an excellent choice for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering work but it's heavier and has shorter battery life, making it less portable. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14, although less powerful, is more affordable, lighter, and offers better battery life, making it suitable for general use and portability. If you prioritize performance and gaming capabilities over portability and cost, the ASUS is more apt. If you prefer a light, cost-effective laptop for everyday tasks with longer battery support, the MSI would be a better fit. Give Feedback

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a decent panel, resolution, and brightness that makes it acceptable for daily tasks, but its limited color range and lower refresh rate hold it back for professional design work and create a less immersive 3D gaming experience. The MSI Modern 14 provides adequate clarity and brightness for everyday activities and is on par for design tasks, due to a fair representation of colors, but like the ASUS, it may disappoint in gaming and 3D scenarios with its standard refresh rate. Neither laptop is ideal for high-end gaming or advanced engineering software, which demand quick refresh rates, expansive color gamuts, and superior screen resolution.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
