The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 offers substantial performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering, as well as intensive gaming, thanks to its higher-end CPU and dedicated GPU. However, it's less portable, heavier, and its battery life isn't as long as the more mobile-friendly Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3. The Surface Laptop Go 3, on the other hand, is very portable and has a longer-lasting battery, making it a better option for general use, especially for those who prioritize a lighter and more compact device for tasks such as document editing, web browsing, and light media consumption. The Surface Laptop also offers a touchscreen, which the ASUS does not. Therefore, if portability and battery life are key for you, and your computing needs are relatively light, go for the Surface Laptop Go 3, but if you need more power for demanding applications and gaming, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is the stronger choice. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 for gaming and AI, and content creation, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 has a better screen for engineering and design.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, with its balance of resolution and brightness, offers a pleasing visual experience for tasks like browsing and video streaming, making it suitable for general use. However, for professionals in engineering and design, where precise color representation is crucial, the F15's coverage of color gamuts may fall short compared to the Surface Laptop Go 3, which boasts better adherence to professional color standards. For gaming and 3D applications, the ASUS's lower refresh rate may not provide the fluid motion desired by gamers or 3D animators, where the refresh rate is a significant factor in the overall experience.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"When it comes to affordably priced laptops, the numbers after the dollar sign are crucially important—more so than in any other price category. By increasing the starting price of its Laptop Go line by $200 and not changing much else, Microsoft irrevocably altered the calculus surrounding the decision of whether to buy the Surface Laptop Go 3. Sure, it has a newer processor and longer battery life, but don’t think for a second you’re not paying dearly for that extra RAM and SSD capacity at that new price."
