The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Slim 7 16 is only fair.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 outperforms in gaming and 3D tasks mainly because it houses a powerful Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU and boasts a high screen refresh rate which is crucial for smooth gameplay. In comparison, the Lenovo Slim 7 16, while still capable for gaming, features a less potent Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and a slightly higher screen refresh rate, which does not compensate for the overall lower graphics processing power.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Slim 7 16 is good.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 with its high-end GPU, powerful Intel CPU, and ample storage offers robust performance for demanding engineering software and 3D design tasks, though it is slightly heavier which might affect portability. In contrast, the Lenovo Slim 7 16, while still offering good performance with a capable AMD CPU and decent GPU, stands out with a higher-resolution screen and better battery life, factors that enhance design work and usability on the go.

The Lenovo Slim 7 16 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, a laptop with a high-resolution, bright display and an IPS panel like the Lenovo Slim 7 16 offers crisp, clear images, making text and visuals sharp and easy on the eyes, while the ASUS TUF Gaming F15, despite being good, may not provide the same level of clarity and brightness. For engineering and design work where color accuracy is paramount, the Lenovo Slim 7 16 stands out with its superior color gamut coverage, displaying more true-to-life colors compared to the ASUS model, which may not reproduce colors with the same fidelity. However, for gaming and 3D applications where motion smoothness is crucial, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15's lower refresh rate may result in less fluid visuals compared to laptops specifically designed for gaming with higher refresh rates, although other factors like resolution and panel type will still render it usable for casual play.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the Lenovo Slim 7 16 compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"At $1,011, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro is a real bargain among full-sized laptops, with a handsome 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio touch screen, a speedy CPU, a comfortable keyboard, ample memory, and a roomy solid-state drive. It's not a blazing gaming rig or mobile workstation, but it doesn't pretend to be. Its biggest negative is that it may be hard to find—during our review, it sold out and was marked "Temporarily Unavailable" on Lenovo's site."
