Choosing between the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" depends on your priorities. If you desire higher gaming and general performance along with a robust design, the ASUS with its more powerful graphics card may be worth the extra expense. But, if you're looking for a balance of good performance and higher resolution display at a more affordable price, and can do with slightly less gaming capability, the Lenovo Legion 5 is a sound option. The Lenovo also offers a longer battery life, which could be important if you plan to use your laptop on the go. Keep in mind, the Lenovo is heavier and larger, thus less portable than the ASUS. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 15" for content creation, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15's screen, while offering sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, may lack the expansive color gamut needed for precision in engineering and design work; furthermore, its refresh rate falls short for the fluid visuals desired in gaming and 3D applications. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" provides a vibrant, sharp display that satisfies general usage and engineering requirements due to its higher color accuracy but still underperforms for gaming and 3D content due to a less than ideal refresh rate. Essentially, while both laptops are equipped for everyday and professional tasks, neither is optimal for high-refresh-rate gaming or 3D rendering.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
