The MSI Raider GE77Hx is very good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is good.
The MSI Raider GE77Hx's superior Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate of 240 frames per second enhance its gaming and 3D performance compared to the ASUS TUF Gaming A16's AMD RX 7600S GPU and 165 frames per second screen refresh rate. Despite the ASUS having a quality screen and capable CPU, the MSI's combination of GPU prowess and smoother visual output thanks to its refresh rate makes it especially suitable for high-end gaming and intensive 3D tasks.

The MSI Raider GE77Hx has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you're primarily using the laptop for everyday tasks like browsing or watching videos, both the ASUS TUF and MSI Raider offer clear, bright displays with ample resolution, ensuring a crisp and enjoyable viewing experience. For engineering and design work where color accuracy is crucial, the MSI Raider provides a slight edge with its wider color gamut, allowing for more precise color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications that benefit from smoother motion, both laptops may fall short due to lower refresh rates, which could lead to less fluid visuals in fast-paced scenes.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 and the MSI Raider GE77Hx compare to other laptops
"The A16 makes an excellent case against more expensive laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and the MSI Katana GF76, especially if you’re into 1080p gaming. However, although its affordable, it doesn’t skimp on performance or a robust chassis. But for me, the biggest factor that sets it apart from these options is its incredible battery life. In my time reviewing laptops, I can’t remember when I last saw a gaming laptop lasted 11 and a half hours on a single charge, which makes the A16, in my book, truly outstanding."
"The MSI Raider GE77 offers a lot of power for a lot of money. The main components consist of a Core i9-12900HX CPU, a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP, 16 GB VRAM), and 64 GB of RAM, which makes for a high overall performance level. The GeForce GPU in particular scores some of the highest scores we have seen from this chip. Both the CPU and the GPU are able to run at continuously high clock speeds. The relatively high heat and noise emissions match our expectations for this device class. With approximately 5.5 to 6.5 hours, the battery life is good for a powerful 4K laptop."
