Choosing between the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and the MSI Raider GE77Hx depends on your priorities. The Aorus 17H comes at a premium price and offers a powerful Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU suited for intensive tasks such as 3D rendering and machine learning; it's also well-rated for engineering use. The Raider GE77Hx, priced in the upper midrange, provides a higher-resolution display, which may be preferable for detailed graphics work, but has a Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti, a step down in graphics performance from the Aorus 17H. Both have similar screen sizes, battery capacity, and storage, but the Raider GE77Hx has a more lightweight power brick which could be a slight advantage in portability. The Aorus 17H is newer and may offer more recent technology benefits. Consider whether screen resolution or GPU power is more critical for your work, as well as whether the slight price difference is significant for your budget. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE77Hx has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 17H for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H likely offers a sharp, bright display and uses a panel type that delivers consistent color and brightness, which is premium for everyday activities and professional design work, but it may lack a high refresh rate necessary for fluid gaming. The MSI Raider GE77Hx probably features similar qualities in terms of vivid color reproduction and high resolution, appreciated in both general computing and precision-required engineering but falls short for gamers seeking ultra-smooth motion.
If you primarily use your laptop for browsing, watching videos, or productivity tasks, either option is excellent due to their display's high resolution and brightness. Those into professional graphic design, photography, or engineering will benefit from the wide color gamut, ensuring accurate color representation. However, if you're a gamer or work with 3D applications that demand fluid motion and rapid refresh, you may find these laptops lacking, as other models with higher refresh rates would better suit those needs.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and the MSI Raider GE77Hx compare to other laptops
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
"The MSI Raider GE77 offers a lot of power for a lot of money. The main components consist of a Core i9-12900HX CPU, a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP, 16 GB VRAM), and 64 GB of RAM, which makes for a high overall performance level. The GeForce GPU in particular scores some of the highest scores we have seen from this chip. Both the CPU and the GPU are able to run at continuously high clock speeds. The relatively high heat and noise emissions match our expectations for this device class. With approximately 5.5 to 6.5 hours, the battery life is good for a powerful 4K laptop."
