The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 comes at a lower midrange price and is significantly less expensive than the Gigabyte Aorus 17G. If budget is a concern, the ASUS offers good value. It's lighter, making it more portable, and has a longer battery life, which is suitable for extended use without charging. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G has a larger screen and higher screen refresh rate, which could be beneficial for gaming and video editing. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, which could be a downside for those who need to travel with their laptop. Both have similar storage and memory capacities, but the premium-priced Gigabyte may have the edge in build quality and a slightly better keyboard. If you're looking for a more affordable option for both work and play, the ASUS is a solid choice, but if you prioritize gaming performance and build quality and are willing to invest more, consider the Gigabyte. The Gigabyte Aorus 17G has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 for general use, and gaming and AI.
When considering laptops for general use, the screen's panel type, resolution, and brightness are crucial; both the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G offer quality displays that deliver on these aspects, making them suitable for everyday tasks like browsing or watching videos. For engineering and design work, color accuracy is key, and both laptops provide screens with good color gamut coverage, ensuring that designs and color-sensitive tasks are displayed accurately and vividly. However, if you're focused on gaming or 3D applications, the importance of a high refresh rate means neither the ASUS nor the Gigabyte excel here, as they focus more on color and resolution rather than the smooth motion provided by higher refresh rate panels.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G compare to other laptops
"The A16 makes an excellent case against more expensive laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and the MSI Katana GF76, especially if you’re into 1080p gaming. However, although its affordable, it doesn’t skimp on performance or a robust chassis. But for me, the biggest factor that sets it apart from these options is its incredible battery life. In my time reviewing laptops, I can’t remember when I last saw a gaming laptop lasted 11 and a half hours on a single charge, which makes the A16, in my book, truly outstanding."
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
