The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is much more expensive and brings a powerful AMD Ryzen processor, better graphics performance with an AMD RX GPU, and a larger screen with higher resolution, which is good for gaming and engineering tasks, but it's heavier and less portable. On the other hand, the Gateway 11.6" is much more affordable and lightweight, making it highly portable. However, it has a smaller and lower resolution screen, less powerful Intel Celeron processor, and significantly less storage and RAM, limiting its use to basic general tasks and not suitable for intensive gaming or resource-heavy applications. The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is good for general use, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 outperforms the Gateway 11.6" for general use due to its powerful AMD Ryzen processor, generous RAM, and higher quality IPS screen with a sharper resolution, which together provide smoother multitasking and clearer visuals. In contrast, the Gateway's modest Intel Celeron processor, minimal RAM, and lower resolution display result in less capable performance and poorer image quality, although it does offer better portability due to its smaller size and weight.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 has a better screen than the Gateway 11.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When choosing the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, you're looking at a laptop with a display that offers vivid colors and sharp resolution suitable for daily tasks and professional engineering work, although its refresh rate may not satisfy the needs of high-frame-rate gaming or 3D work. The Gateway 11.6" falls short with its screen capabilities, as it likely has lower resolution and brightness, which can make it less enjoyable for everyday use and challenging for detail-oriented engineering tasks. While both laptops don't excel in displaying fast-moving 3D images, the ASUS might still offer a more pleasant visual experience due to its overall better display quality compared to the Gateway.

"The A16 makes an excellent case against more expensive laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and the MSI Katana GF76, especially if you’re into 1080p gaming. However, although its affordable, it doesn’t skimp on performance or a robust chassis. But for me, the biggest factor that sets it apart from these options is its incredible battery life. In my time reviewing laptops, I can’t remember when I last saw a gaming laptop lasted 11 and a half hours on a single charge, which makes the A16, in my book, truly outstanding."
