Choosing the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 over the HP Victus 15 means investing in a laptop with a faster processor, higher-end graphics card, and better display resolution. This makes the ASUS more suitable for intensive tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning. It also offers a higher battery capacity, which may lead to longer usage times, although actual battery life can vary based on usage. However, the ASUS is less portable due to its heavier weight. The HP Victus 15, on the other hand, is more budget-friendly and lighter, making it easier to carry, but this comes with lower performance and a less sharp display, which might still be sufficient for general use or less demanding engineering tasks. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 delivers superior gaming and 3D performance compared to the HP Victus 15 due to its more powerful Nvidia RTX 4070 graphics card and higher screen refresh rate of 240 Hz, which results in smoother visuals and gameplay. In contrast, the HP Victus 15, while suitable for gaming, has a less potent Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and a lower refresh rate of 144 Hz, making it less optimal for high-intensity gaming and 3D tasks.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 boasts a high-resolution display with vivid colors and exceptional brightness, making it excellent for general use and suitable for engineering and design where color accuracy is vital. However, it lacks a high refresh rate, which is important for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15 offers a decent display for everyday tasks but doesn't quite deliver the color precision and range needed for professional design work, and similar to the ASUS, it falls short for gaming and 3D due to its lower refresh rate.

"The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is not yet as optimised as its predecessor. Compared to the previous gen, performance and efficiency have improved significantly. What's more, the wonderful, Mini-LED Nebula display is a contender for the main highlight and almost manages to put the CPU and GPU in the shade. We already found its predecessor to be a well-rounded and well-optimised gaming machine. Generally, but not unequivocally, that also applies to the new Asus M16. Similar to most of the current, new laptops, we are dealing with a double generational leap in terms of the CPU and GPU. However, this change doesn't always run smoothly."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
