The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 is a high-performance machine that's excellent for gaming and engineering, due to its powerful processor and graphics card. However, it's more expensive and less portable because of its larger size and weight. The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 is less expensive, more portable, and has better battery life, making it suitable for general use and better for carrying around, but it's not as powerful for heavy tasks like 3D rendering or gaming. If top-notch performance for tasks like gaming or engineering is a priority and you are okay with a heavier and less portable laptop, go with the ASUS. However, if you need something lighter, more affordable, and with better battery life for everyday tasks and occasional light gaming, the Dell would be a better choice. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | May 2021
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."

Ultrabook Review

Derek Sullivan | January 2023
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
