If you need a laptop primarily for gaming or intensive tasks like 3D modeling or machine learning, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 would be appropriate with its advanced graphics card, although it is less portable and typically more expensive. On the other hand, the HP Spectre x360 is more affordable, offers better portability, and has a touch screen with higher resolution, making it suitable for general use and tasks that benefit from a touch interface, but it is not as well equipped for high-end gaming or intensive engineering work. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the HP Spectre x360 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
