When considering the ASUS ROG Strix G18 against the Lenovo ThinkPad X13, you're looking at two very different laptops with distinct purposes. The ASUS is designed for high-end gaming and demanding tasks like video editing or 3D animation, offering top-notch performance but at a higher cost and with less emphasis on battery life and portability. In contrast, the ThinkPad favors a balance between performance and portability, being lighter and easier to carry with better battery life, making it suitable for business professionals and general use. Its lower cost also reflects its more modest hardware compared to the gaming-optimized ASUS. Choose the ASUS if your priority is maximum performance for graphically intensive applications and you're less concerned about budget and mobility, or opt for the ThinkPad if you need a reliable laptop for everyday use with good portability at a more affordable price. How the ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) and the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 compare to other laptops
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
"The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 G4 has very good input devices, a wide array of security features and ports as well as 5G in the tested configuration. It is more compact and lightweight compared with its predecessor, and it has improved speakers and a slightly better webcam. On the other hand, the fan is more annoying and the performance is barely improved. The battery is worse as well, but this is primarily attributable to the OLED screen - if this aspect is important, buyers should choose the IPS Low Power LCD."
