For a balance of performance and portability, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is a strong contender with its superior GPU, which is particularly beneficial for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks. It also offers a brighter screen with better color accuracy, making it ideal for creative work. However, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 boasts more RAM and storage out of the box, which is advantageous for multitasking and storage-intensive applications. It also has a larger screen, which can be a plus for immersive experiences. Both laptops have high-refresh-rate displays suitable for fast-motion content. The ASUS, with its slightly better battery life and more robust build quality, is well-suited for those who prioritize durability and longevity on the go. Consider the Lenovo if you value raw graphics performance and a more compact form factor, but lean towards the ASUS if you need more memory and storage right away and can manage a slightly heavier device. NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | March 2023
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."

"Passionate gamers who want to play demanding modern titles with maximum details and don't mind spending the moolah will find the Lenovo Legion 7 Pro to be the right choice. The bright, sharp, and color-accurate 16:10 QHD 240 Hz display makes for an immersive viewing experience. The hardware is housed in a stylish chassis that feels premium and scores well in terms of workmanship and stability. Other aspects such as sound quality, input devices, and connectivity also seem to be near-perfect."
