If you prioritize top-notch gaming and demanding tasks and are less concerned with budget, the Asus ROG Strix could serve you well with its robust performance; however, it's less convenient to carry around. The Gigabyte Aorus offers a balance between performance and value; it's more affordable and generally adequate for a wide range of activities, including moderate gaming and everyday tasks, with better portability than the Asus, at the expense of some high-end features and raw power. Consider battery life too, as gaming laptops often have shorter battery life due to their more powerful components. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 15X for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 stands out with a high-resolution, bright display that makes text sharp and colors vivid, enhancing everyday activities like browsing and video watching, while the Gigabyte Aorus 15X's slightly lesser brightness may not be as eye-catching but still provides a clear and pleasant visual experience. Engineering and design professionals would appreciate the ASUS's wider color gamuts, ensuring that the colors they work with are accurate and consistent for professional work, whereas the Gigabyte has good color representation, but not to the extent of the ASUS, which could matter in color-sensitive projects. However, for gaming and 3D purposes, both laptops fall short with their lower refresh rates, meaning animations and fast-paced scenes won't be as smooth, with the resolution and panel type being less of an issue compared to the lack of fluid motion that a higher refresh rate would provide.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) and the Gigabyte Aorus 15X compare to other laptops
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
