The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is less expensive than the MSI Stealth GS77 and comes with a strong AMD processor suitable for gaming and engineering tasks. The Strix G17 is particularly good for gaming due to its hardware ray tracing and fast motion display. However, the MSI Stealth GS77, while pricier, has more RAM, which benefits multitasking and complex applications, an Intel processor, and offers premium features like Thunderbolt ports and better battery life. If portability is crucial, both laptops are similar in weight, but the MSI has a notably higher portability score. Consider the Strix G17 if you prioritize gaming and cost-savings, and the Stealth GS77 for its enhanced multitasking capability, connectivity options, and longer battery performance. Give Feedback

For general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and MSI Stealth GS77 offer sharp images and good visibility in different light conditions thanks to their high resolution and brightness, satisfying the need for clarity and ease of viewing. In engineering and design, both laptops have screens that cover a wide range of colors, important for accurate rendering of designs, which makes them suitable for professionals in these fields. However, their lower refresh rates, while not affecting general tasks and detailed design work, may lead to less smooth visuals during fast-paced 3D gaming, which is why they're considered poor for gaming that relies heavily on fluid motion.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
