The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers high performance for gaming with its AMD Ryzen CPU and Nvidia RTX GPU, which is also suitable for 3D and machine learning tasks. It has a larger screen size, a high refresh rate which is excellent for fast-paced gaming, and an RGB backlit keyboard, but it's heavier and less portable. On the other hand, the MSI Prestige 16, with its Intel i7 CPU and integrated graphics, provides good general performance. It's lighter and more portable with a smaller screen but is still great for general use and engineering tasks. The Prestige is a bit less suited for gaming due to its less powerful GPU. If portability and a professional aesthetic are important, and you're not focused on gaming, the Prestige 16 might be the better option, while if you need a gaming powerhouse and can handle less portability, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 could be the way to go. PCMag

Mark Knapp | October 2023
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."

Paul Antill | June 2023
"The MSI Prestige 16 Evo: 2023's best value 16” thin & light laptop with i7-13700H. One of the top choices for professionals and students seeking a high-performance, portable computing solution in 2023. While the MSI Prestige 16 Evo A13M may not boast the most striking design compared to some other 16" options, its relatively "safe" styling lends itself well to professional and educational environments. Significantly, it doesn't compromise on essential features like port selection or cooling performance, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient thermal management. The 16 Evo A13M offers an excellent combination of performance, portability, and functionality, making it a compelling choice for professionals and students alike."
