If you require a laptop for gaming or tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 with a high-performance processor and graphics card is the better choice, although it is less portable due to its size and weight. On the other hand, if portability and battery life are more important for general use and you don't need as much power, the LG Ultra 13 is lighter, with a smaller screen size, making it easier to carry around and offering longer battery life. The LG is also less expensive but has lower performance capabilities compared to the ASUS. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is very good for engineering and design, while the LG Ultra 13 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 excels in engineering and design tasks due to its high-end CPU and GPU, ample RAM, and superior screen quality which are very important for such tasks, whereas the LG Ultra 13, while portable and also having decent RAM, falls short due to a less powerful CPU and GPU, and a lower-quality screen. Additionally, the ASUS boasts a larger, higher-resolution display which is beneficial for detailed work, though it is less portable and noisier under load compared to the LG Ultra 13 which offers better portability and quieter operation.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the LG Ultra 13 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 provides a vibrant, sharp display with ample brightness which enhances the viewing experience during everyday tasks, while the LG Ultra 13 offers a good balance of clarity and luminance suitable for various applications. Engineering and design professionals benefit from the ASUS’s wider color gamuts, presenting more accurate colors for detailed projects, whereas the LG provides decent color reproduction that may suffice for less demanding design work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the ASUS's lower refresh rate may lead to less fluid motion, while the LG, despite its good resolution and panel, will also fall short in delivering the smooth visuals that high refresh rates provide for fast-paced gaming.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the LG Ultra 13 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The 13.3-inch LG Gram is a fine fit if you need to travel as light as possible for as long as possible without spending a fortune to do it. It might not be particularly sturdy or have an eye-catching design and its webcam is less than ideal, but with its sharp touch display, comfortable backlit keyboard, responsive touchpad and a fingerprint reader for extra security, the Gram makes a respectible everyday laptop for business or school work."
