For heavy tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is better equipped with its high-performance processor and dedicated graphics card, but it is less portable and has less battery life compared to the LG Gram 16. The LG Gram 16, on the other hand, is much lighter and offers longer battery life, which makes it better for general use and on-the-go productivity, although it might struggle with intensive tasks due to its integrated graphics. If gaming is a priority, the ASUS is tailored for this with its higher refresh rate display and gaming-oriented features, whereas the LG excels in portability and battery life for everyday tasks. How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the LG Gram 16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
