The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a larger screen with a higher resolution, which may provide a better visual experience and is suited for intensive gaming, but it also comes at a higher price and less portability due to its size and weight. The Lenovo LOQ 16 is more affordable, lighter, and slightly more portable, making it easier to carry around, but it has a smaller screen with lower resolution, and less powerful graphics, which may not be as suitable for heavy gaming or demanding tasks. If you need high performance for gaming or engineering work and can manage the extra weight and cost, the ASUS could be the better choice, while the Lenovo is a more budget-friendly option for general use and decent performance in a more compact form. The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Lenovo LOQ 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17, with its higher resolution and brightness, provides a sharp and vivid display suitable for most users and detailed enough for engineering tasks, but its lower refresh rate is a drawback for smooth 3D rendering and fast-paced gaming. The Lenovo LOQ 16 also offers good clarity and brightness for everyday tasks and ample color accuracy for professional design work, although it shares a similar limitation in gaming and 3D because of a less optimal refresh rate. Both laptops, therefore, excel in general productivity and precision-required engineering fields but fall short for gaming enthusiasts who prioritize fluid motion and rapid on-screen action.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 and Lenovo LOQ 16 are both good for general use.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a larger screen with higher resolution and brighter display, coupled with a significantly more powerful CPU, making it excellent for multitasking and media consumption; however, it is heavier and less portable with poorer battery life compared to the Lenovo LOQ 16, which provides better portability and longer battery life with a lighter build, making it more suitable for on-the-go use, despite having slightly lower screen quality and a less powerful CPU. Both laptops have sufficient RAM for general use and offer quality keyboards, although the Lenovo manages heat and operating noise better, sacrificing some storage capacity compared to the ASUS.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo LOQ 16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"Gaming laptops with an RTX 4060 are available starting from about 1,000 Euros (~$1,060), even in 16-inch format. For the supposedly affordable Lenovo LOQ 16 (1,500 Euros, ~$1,591), the manufacturer particularly saves in the equipment and materials compared to the more expensive Legion series. In addition, the LOQ is slightly heavier and more bulky. What remains is anything but a laptop full of difficult compromises. Instead, this is a more than solid gaming laptop that focusses on the 3D performance.Q is slightly heavier and more bulky."
